Twenty-Nine (29) years of fee appraisal experience in a wide variety of property types including industrial, commercial, office, agricultural and residential.
Specialization in the preparation of reports for litigation purposes including expropriation and lease arbitration. Extensive experience in narrative and form appraisals for acquisition and financing purposes. Clients include governmental agencies, private owners and major lending institutions.
Retained to provide appraisal review services in relation to disputes between private parties, government bodies and actions against realtors and appraisers, involving large forested acreages, lakefront properties, riverfront properties, golf courses, agricultural properties, oceanfront water access only lands, and a variety of urban properties.
Seventeen (17) years experience as a Property Agent/Negotiator for government bodies providing property valuation, negotiation expertise and design consultation for the purpose of acquiring land for public projects. Extensive experience in acquiring land for Ministry of Transportation highway improvement projects. In the vast majority of acquisition assignments consensual agreements have been reached with owners ranging from private individuals to national corporations. Claims successfully settled include those for land, buildings, timber, crops, gravel and groundwater contamination.
Seven (7) years experience as a Property Acquisition Coordinator of land acquisition programs for major highway infrastructure programs on behalf of the BC Ministry of Transportation encompassing all issues and areas of the property acquisition process. Reviewed design plans, consulted with stakeholders, organized scheduling for negotiations and acquisition in coordination with construction demands. Preparation of documentations for expropriation and land titles registration, reviewed expert reports, advised project managers on strategies for mitigating design challenges proposed by difficult owners.
Knowledge of the Transportation Act, Community Charter, Local Government Act, Land Act and Expropriation Act through working knowledge as an appraiser and agent for public land acquisition projects.
